Finnish sauna

Optimal temperature in the sauna is around 90°C

It is the most famous and most widely used type of sauna in the world. Finnish saunas are built exclusively from high-quality solid wood without chemical treatment. Inside the sauna, a wood-burning or electric stove - controlled by sauna thermostats - is placed to heat the room. The correct temperature in the sauna in this case is 85-95 °C.

The Finnish sauna also includes a bucket of water and a ladle. As soon as the humidity in the sauna drops noticeably, the sauna attendant or one of the sauna attendees scoops water with a ladle and pours it over the hot lava stones on the stove. A sharp rise in the humidity in the sauna, which settles down to 10-20%, creates the illusion of equally intense heat.

It is recommended to stay in the heat of the Finnish sauna for five to fifteen minutes. The strong warming strengthens the functions of blood circulation and thermoregulation of the body. It eliminates, for example, cold feet syndrome, strengthens the immune system and acts as a prevention against allergies.
